Outfit posts are so much more fun than studying… Here’s a quick one. I just received these Loeffler Randal d’orsays in the mail today and love the look of this cheetah print.
Not all cheetah prints are made equal ya know. I particularly like this one because the black dots are bold and well defined against a muted burnt sienna background. I think the orange-y versions with the semi circle & dot pattern are soo tacky. Continue reading →
I’ve been heeding the advice of Dearly Bethany today and wore these ES pants cuffed above my ankles and my shirt tucked in to make myself look taller. I love the way it evens out my weird proportions and might not ever wear a shirt again untucked. I hope that won’t go out of fashion! Continue reading →
I really wanted to like this dress, but there’s something a little off about it. The material has this nice dry texture to it which I love, but it doesn’t drape well on me. I normally wear an extra small at Everlane, so got this in small for a loose fit. Continue reading →
Back again! I love taking a little breather from real life to write here. It’s been crazy busy. And all I want is more time to relax. Work has been hectic and I’ve been spending my nights studying for my board exams. ughh... But back to getting dressed! Continue reading →
Forgive me if you’ve already read a lot about the 24/7 T shirt bra by ThirdLove. My first one came in the mail this week and after a few days with it on, I’m ready to share my thoughts. It’s relatively expensive at over $70. Probably the most I’ve spent on a bra. Was it worth it? Yes! … Is it perfect? No. Continue reading →
I’m back! Was off the grid for a while up in the Montana cabin. Continue reading →
TGIF of July! Anyone else desperately needed a day off?
Quick update: we didn’t end up moving to Brooklyn after all. Couldn’t quite swallow paying more for half of our current square footage. Rent is insane.
But, back to getting dressed:
My summer outfits have been a snap to put together this year. It’s the first time ever. I think the secret was making that initial investment in linen tops, shorts, and sandals in the spring time–all within a neutral color palette to make them easy to mix and match. Continue reading →
The past couple of weeks have been way too busy over here (big changes at work and a possible relocation to Brooklyn is in the works!)… But now I’m back and have a few closet updates to share.
The picture above shows all the tops I wore this past week. Notice the 3 linen tops? They’re all secondhand EF shell tops, slightly cropped. They feel very airy without the frumpy factor seen with EF’s longer tunic-y tops. I love the way linen bounces back after each wash. It doesn’t shrink. It contracts. Continue reading →
Get ready! Here’s another shoe review. I had this lined up for a while and finally got around to posting: Continue reading →
Lately, my Doc Marten z-strap sandals have been on high rotation on hot days that require a lot of walking. I previously owned a pair of Chaco Z2’s that look similar, except much more orthopedic. The straps on the Chacos were too long on me, not built for my thin/long feet. Lucky for me though, they have a cult following among outdoorsy people so I was able to sell them easily online for almost the same price I paid. Continue reading →
The thought of wearing white pants scares me. I’ve never owned a pair. These linen pants in the color “flax” are the closest thing I have to them. The slight color variations in the fabric hide stains well. I don’t live in fear of stains in these and don’t hesitate to sit on subway benches or walk on dirt paths in the park. An outfit succeeds when it gets out of your way, allows you to move freely and go anywhere. Continue reading →
We run a tight ship over here and over this 3 day weekend, our wardrobes saw another purge. Continue reading →
I turned 32 this past weekend. Aging sucks for many reasons, but one thing I do like about getting older, besides more wisdom and all that deep meaningful stuff that comes along with it, is actually how my wardrobe (and those of you I follow) has grown up too, in a way that’s more aware than any other generation before ours. I used to think it was cool to dress in a way that was edgy and different. Now, I really don’t care about that as a virtue. And I’m much more focused on what makes me feel good even if that means I’m wearing the same thing everyone else is wearing. Continue reading →
Here are three links I was into this week: Continue reading →
