I hate bras. Don’t you? But for some of us, support is necessary. And saggage happens more quickly than you think. Coopers ligaments lose their elasticity pretty quickly without a bra. Anyway…
I’ve been a big fan of bralettes lately. I think bralettes have gained in popularity because women don’t want to be bothered anymore with the fuss of underwire and padding. We just want to be comfortable. I’ve been through a few bralettes and my favorite so far is also the simplest: the pansy bralette.
It’s made of simply cotton and elastic. No frills. And they are made in the USA (made elsewhere is not necessarily a bad thing, don’t get me wrong). It is as easy to put on and take off as a T shirt and offers a decent amount of support. They look beautiful and really nail the essence of what a bra should be, I think. I bought one in olive green and a size large, but next time I think I’ll get a size medium for better compression and lift. For now, I’m going to make do and will get the elastic bands shortened by a couple inches at the tailor. Pansy’s instagram pictures are worth checking out; it offers many examples of the shapes and sizes the bralettes can accomodate.

I agree, and have been wearing simple unpadded bralettes for a couple years. They are way more comfortable, and have better invisible lines under clothes. Target definitely is not great for american-made local fabrics, but I’ve had a lot of luck with this simple one: http://www.target.com/p/women-s-seamless-bralette-gilligan-o-malley/-/A-14325848

Thanks Joy, all my other bras are from Target. Definitely found some good ones in the past.
